Fall is by far my favourite season.
Somewhere between the colourful foliage and the ghoulish promises of Halloween, it inspires me. See the post on the Living Dead of Norse mythology here.
There’s something fantastic about this time of year. Nature has entered an end stage where nothing thrives anymore. Death is imminent, and the long, cold dark of winter looms ahead.
Past civilizations celebrated the end of summer and the coming of winter in various ways. And some of these ways are still observed to this day. Take the wide spread Harvest celebrations, such as Thanksgiving, Oktoberfest, etc.
You are more pagan than you think!
While you’re here, let me share with you one of my favourite nature spots. I made a video (my first!) about the forest surrounding the small town I live in. The video was shot on an iPhone6. Editing done with iMovie.
